EIF - EUROPEAN ILLUSTRATORS FORUM
European Illustrators are going to meet in Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
[ ABR 2004 ]

After the first meeting between European Professional Illustrators Associations organized in Valencia -Illustrator’s Transnational Rendezvous- October 2003, a new event will be organized within the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

Since October 2003, the illustrators associations have been in touch through the eti@apiv.com mailing list promoted by APIV; this mailing list has increased its membership to include the following organizations:

Aesopos - Greece (pubrel@GNHM.GR)
Associazione Illustratori - Italy (www.associazioneillustratori.it)
Association of Illustrators (AOI) - UK (www.theaoi.com)
Grafill - Norway (www.grafill.no)
Illustrators Guild of Ireland - Ireland (www.illustratorsireland.com)
La Maison Des Illustrateurs - France (maisonillustr@free.fr)
Svenska Tecknare - Sweden (www.svenskatecknare.se)
FADIP (www.fadip.org) - Spain:
APIM Madrid (www.apimadrid.net) - APIC Catalonia (www.apic.es) - APIE Basque Country - AGPI Galicia (www.agpilustracion.org) - APIV Valencia (www.apiv.com)

Associazione Illustratori has made it possible that European illustrator’s associations share a common stand within the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

APIV will be represented by its president, Nacho Casanova, and Carmen Castro, General Manager.

We are acting to consolidate the network between professional associations and for this reason we will offer other associations within the visual arts the opportunity to join us us. This will also be an excellent opportunity to make a presentation of the European Illustrators Forum for the publishing sector and to set our priorities (legislation, artists’ rights in the EU, etcera).

The EIF (European Illustrator's Forum) stand will also be the place to find the news and updates from each professional association (publications, catalogues,…). APIV’s products will be in Bologna: Cine de papel, Animalada and The Illustrators Catalogue, as well as the first copies of The White Book on Spanish Graphic Illustration. Round tables, informal meetings at the Illustrator’s Stand and the Illustrator’s Forum –CAFE- will be held in order to promote professional associations among Illustrators in Europe.

As APIV has proposed since its foundation, our aim is to include as many professional illustrators in our asociation, so that we may put our efforts together to share information and common interests.
